German sailor (30) dies in shark attack off Canary Islands
On Monday evening, a 30-year-old German woman was killed after she was attacked by a shark.
The woman was aboard a catamaran 278 km southwest of the island of Gran Canaria and off the coast of the disputed territory of Western Sahara when the shark struck. The German lost a leg and died of a heart attack while en route to hospital in Las Palmas, the capital of Gran Canaria.
