Man shot dead following appointment on dating app
A sixty-year-old man was killed in a home invasion in Brussels last Thursday morning. The victim's son had made an appointment via the dating app Grindr.
On the night of Wednesday to Thursday, around 4am, a deadly home invasion took place in Ixelles in an apartment on Gachardstraat Street, near the Avenue Louise, in the Belgian capital.
Two masked Spanish-speaking men entered the apartment after making an appointment with the resident, a young Frenchman, via the dating app Grindr. Once inside, the criminals demanded money and a commotion broke out. The resident's parents, who were temporarily staying with him, were woken up by the noise.
The father, a sixty-year-old, was shot dead, while the mother and son were hit on the arm. The perpetrators are on the run and the police are investigating the case. The Brussels public prosecutor's office will not comment further for the time being.
