Ambulance stolen as emergency intervention in full swing
Three youth stole an ambulance earlier on in the week. The ambulance workers where in the middle of an emergency intervention in an apartment building nearby.
The incident took place in Antwerp (Belgium), when ambulance drivers were shocked as they left the apartment building and found that their ambulance had dissapeared. Three young people had taken it for a joyride. Considering the early time of the day, they drove at a speed of at least 60km/h, in the deserted streets of the Antwerp district.
Smile, you're on camera
Thanks to a tracking system, the private company Vyvex found the vehicle a few streets further down, without damage or theft. The company manager filed a complaint with the police. He stressed the seriousness of the situation, particularly because of the possible impact on medical assistance. One of the youth was filmed by the dashcam and the images were handed over to the police.
