"We must end Russian air terror"
Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky has addressed the nation following a Russian attack on the city of Dnipro in broad daylight on Wednesday. In that attack, six people were killed and some 50 injured by the missiles.
In addition to the usual demands to strengthen air defences, Kiev has added a more ambitious request that could be put on the table at the NATO summit in Washington: that its allies provide the country with more long-range missiles and allow it to use them against air bases in Russia.
Besides the intensive bombardment of Dnipro, the Russian air force also dropped guided aerial bombs on the city of Kharkov on Wednesday.
"There is only one way to stop this: more air defence systems, more long-range attacks on the bases of Russian terrorists, on their air bases," the Ukrainian president said.
