Russia sought US help in fear of Ukrainian attack
Russian state television reported that Russian authorities had suspicions that Ukraine was planning to attack the country during the Navy Day parade. That was attended by President Vladimir Putin last month.
In fact, the fear of a Ukrainian counterattack was so great among the Russians that they appealed to the United States. So reports Russian state television after contacting Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, who said concerns about the suspected attack were so great that Defence Minister Andrei Belousov contacted US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin about the suspicions.
