“Without Western money, Ukraine can't exist” (V. Orban)
For pro-Russian Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban: “Ukraine's economy doesn't match that of the EU.”
Relations between Hungary and Ukraine continue to deteriorate. In a statement, Viktor Orban blasted “hostile and aggressive” comments made by Ukrainian authorities over Kiev's decision to cut off Russian gas transit to Central Europe.
“The changes taking place in the world are working against Kiev and weakening its position. If it remains aggressive and hostile, it will lose,” added Viktor Orban.
In his view, Ukraine poses a serious threat to the European economy. The Hungarian Prime Minister made his statement in the context of European military and economic assistance to Ukraine, to which Budapest is constantly opposed. Orban stressed that, in his opinion, the war will end as soon as the United States and the European Union decide to stop funding the activities of the Ukrainian government.
