North Korea appears to have started building a new submarine, which could be nuclear-powered, according to a South Korean official.

An unnamed South Korean military official told state news agency Yonhap that construction work on the submarine had been identified in the northeast of the country, and that the boat was larger than previous submarines used by Korea.

The fact that they are nuclear-powered makes them quieter and more autonomous.

At the party congress in January 2021, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced that “the design of a new nuclear-powered submarine had been researched and was in the final examination stage”.

Kim added that work on the design of various weapons and sensors for such a project had already been completed.

It seems that the North Korean leader is on the verge of succeeding in his terrible project.
