Heavy punishment for Russian who wanted to blow up recruitment center
A Russian mechanic was sentenced this week to 18 years in prison for planning to blow up a military recruitment center. So reports Russian news agency Tass.
39-year-old Artyom Lozovoy appeared before a Russian court during a trial behind closed doors and was found guilty of high treason, plotting an attack, and possession of explosives.
The man was apprehended in the fall of 2023 while trying to retrieve explosives intended for an attack on the recruitment center in his hometown of Voronej, a city in southwestern Russia. Several weeks earlier, the man had already been fined 30,000 rubles (293 euros) for posting on social media a video criticizing Russia's offensive in Ukraine. So reports Tass.
