Plane disappears with all its passengers...It's found 53 years later
1971, USA. A private jet with 5 people on board mysteriously disappeared from radar.
After 53 years of questioning, American investigators finally found the wreckage of the plane. In all, 17 search operations had been carried out from 1971 to 2019. “The passengers, on the other hand, were presumed dead on the day of the plane's disappearance, without their relatives knowing the truth,” reports Demotivateur.
American researcher, Gary Kozak, and his team are 99% certain of their discovery. In May of 2019, they used remote-controlled vehicles to access the wreckage of the jet located near Juniper Island (Vermont).
Why this (almost) certainty? The aircraft was found close to the area where the control tower had recorded the last signals, at a depth of 60 metres in a lake. What's more, the paintings on the plane match, reports Lad Bible website, relayed by Demotivateur.
Since then, there has been relief for the victims' relatives. "Having this found out... it's a peaceful feeling, at the same time it's a very sad feeling. We know what happened. We've seen some photos. That's what's difficult now", said the pilot's niece, Barbara Nikita, to the Associated Press.
At the time, the initial search had to be called off just 4 days after the jet's disappearance due to extreme weather conditions, which caused the lake to freeze over. Was it this particularly harsh climate that caused the crash? For the moment, this remains unknown.
