Fake Aldi on Google Maps causes traffic chaos
A joker single-handedly added an Aldi branch in Wales on Google Maps. And this was followed quite immediately by a rush of motorists, and even an Aldi milk vendor got stuck in the small agricultural road in this remote corner of Wales.
Instead of a supermarket, those interested found there was only a remote roadside farm in the hamlet near the village of Cyffylliog. In reality, the nearest supermarket is many miles away even. A truck got stuck in the narrow lane, leading to hours of traffic chaos. The truck, realizing at the scene that it had been fooled, ended up blocking traffic for hours when it wanted to return. The Google Maps location has since been removed and calm has returned to Cyffylliog.
