Pandas escape due to heavy snowfall
On Jan. 3, there were suddenly no more red pandas at the Walter Zoo AG in Gossau, Switzerland.
The two female animals appeared to have escaped and were helped by the heavy snowfall of the previous days.
Li and Yen managed to escape from their enclosure after branches of trees and bushes gave way under a fresh 30-centimeter layer of snow, allowing the animals to climb over the fence of the panda enclosure.
The twin sisters then hid in nearby trees. They were eventually able to be recaptured thanks to nets and were not injured in the process.
