Cable car carrying 30 tourists breaks down and falls (VIDEO)
Panic erupted in Italy's Cortina d'Ampezzo when a cabin containing 30 tourists was suddenly released from the departure station due to an electrical fault.
The cabin plunged very briefly into the depths, but thanks to the emergency brake, an aboslute tragedy could be avoided in the Dolomites. The 30 occupants were able to breathe a sigh of relief, but will probably still need a few days to digest this grim experience. The second engine brought the tourists back to safety. The passengers were able to disembark again at the departure station while the system was repaired. No one was injured.
