According to the police and experts, one thing is already clear: the theft was commissioned.
The perpetrators were concerned with four Reigning Queens by Andy Warhol. Screenprints. Only four of each queen were made. “The special thing about this collection was that I had the four silkscreens with the number twelve,” the gallery owner responds to the Telegraph.
The neighbor across the street heard a noise and pulled out his smartphone. He managed to film the entire art robbery. Thus, the footage also shows that the thieves simply left two works that turned out to be too large on the street. The camera footage also shows the thieves ripping the works out of their frames, severely damaging them. Consequently, they can no longer be sold, but only end up in a private collection....
