Stop: X is a toxic platform!
As a true institution, published since 1821, the British daily The Guardian has decided to leave X (formerly Twitter). The reasons given are linked to its evolution since its acquisition by Elon Musk.
"Often disturbing content" on X, "far-right conspiracy theories" on this social media network, including "racism". The words written in a message by the British daily The Guardian are harsh! It's a fact that the takeover of former Twitter by Elon Musk has given rise to an extreme vision of freedom of expression on X, with little moderation. In any case, the famous newspaper from London's Kings Place has decided to no longer publish anything on this platform as from November 13, 2024.
No blockage yet
The debates around the American elections on X have, it seems, reinforced The Guardian's editorial staff in its intention to leave it. According to a press release from the center-left daily: "X is a toxic media platform and its owner, Elon Musk, has used his influence to shape political discourse." X has not yet blocked the sharing of links to articles from The Guardian and journalists from the print media outlet can still use it for news gathering purposes.
