Journalists find feared and devilish hitwoman thanks to selfies

In September 2019, American Aimee Betro tried to shoot store owner Sikander Ali to death in Acocks Green, a suburb of the British city of Birmingham.

She had her face hidden behind a hidjab and pointed her firearm at Skiander Ali and pulled the trigger. But the gun jammed. The following night, three more bullets were fired at his residence. Two days after the attempted assassination, Aimee Betro traveled back to the US. Since then, police had been after her, but without success. The professional hitwoman always managed to hide. Until some eager journalists analyzed selfies of the woman and found out her whereabouts. That brought the investigation into unprecedented momentum.

Based on details in the background of photos and selfies she had posted on social media, journalists from Britain's Daily Mail newspaper found out a few days ago that Betro had fled to Armenia. She was said to be in the capital Yerevan. She apparently worked there online and rarely left her hiding place. And just there she was put in handcuffs last week.

Her principals are meanwhile also already behind bars.
