Empty seats during the Pope's visit to Belgium?
The city of Ottignies in Belgium has not managed to sell all reserved places for its residents to see Pope Francis during his visit to the city this Saturday, September 28. It's therefore opening up reservations to anyone who wishes to attend the event.
Pope Francis will be visiting Belgium at the end of September, considering he has recovered from his flu. He is due to spend Saturday, September 28 on the Louvain-la-Neuve campus for the 600th anniversary of UCLouvain University. The university and the city of Ottignies had 5,000 places, including 4,000 for residents of the town and members of the university community wishing to be part of the crowd welcoming him. They will be able to see him from a car park. However, according to La Dernière Heure not all the available places have been reserved. They are now open to residents of other cities. But, you have to hurry, registrations close this Tuesday, September 24 at 11:59pm, for security reasons.
