US starts to sell assault weapons to Saudi Arabia again
After a three-year ban because of Saudi Arabia's role in the war in Yemen, the United States has confirmed that it will again sell assault weapons to Saudi Arabia.
"Since the situation in Yemen has calmed down somewhat, Saudi Arabia has respected the terms of the agreement and we are therefore ready to respect ours," reports Vedant Patel, a spokesman for the U.S. State Department.
It is not yet clear which assault weapons are exactly involved in the deal.
