Michelle Obama could beat Trump
Joe Biden has announced that he is withdrawing his candidacy for the next US presidential election. The key question is now: who will run against Trump?
The US president has given his full support to his vice president Kamala Harris. A number of prominent Democrats are already backing Kamala Harris for the presidency. At least 27 Democratic senators - a majority of the 51 who vote with Democrats in the Senate - have already publicly endorsed Kamala Harris as their presidential candidate.
But in addition to Kamala Harris, there are 4 prominent Democrats: Gretchen Whitmer, Josh Shapiro, Gavin Newsom and J.B. Pritzker, but the name that has just made a comeback is that of the outsider: Michelle Obama.
Michelle Obama enjoys a high profile, which would be crucial if she joined the campaign this late. She is already popular among Democrats and is supported by 56 percent of all voters.
Another important detail for political analysts is that neither former President Barack Obama nor his wife have already announced their support for Kamala Harris.
