Hollywood actor Steven Seagal keeps supporting Vladimir Putin

Hollywood actor Steven Seagal (70) has admired Russian President Vladimir Putin for years, speaking openly about it each time. Even now that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is claiming so many lives, the American actor continues to stand firmly behind the Russian president. This is evident from some remarkable statements in the new documentary series 'In the Name of Justice'.

“I'm willing to give my life for him if I ever have to,” Steven Seagal says in the documentary.

The docuseries also features Seagal visiting occupied territories in Ukraine, talking to locals and spreading Kremlin propaganda. He also meets Ukrainian prisoners of war, reportedly members of the controversial Azov battalion, known for its racist and xenophobic policies.

Russian citizenship for Seagal
Seagal and Putin met in 2003 at a dinner during the Moscow Film Festival, so they have apparently become very good friends since then. Both are lovers of combat sports, so they see each other regularly to attend combat matches.

Seagal described Putin in an interview as “one of the best leaders in the world” and “a good friend whom I consider a brother.” By the way, in 2016, Seagal received Russian citizenship from Putin, and two years later he was appointed special envoy to improve relations between Russia and the United States. In May 2021, Seagal even joined the party “A Just Russia - For Truth,” which supports Putin.
