Dmitry Medvedev suggests South Korea take inspiration from Squid Game to select new leader
Dmitry Medvedev has humorously suggested that South Korea adopt the principles of the series Squid Game to select their next president.
This remark comes as the National Assembly recently voted to begin impeachment proceedings against President Han Duck-soo, despite criticism from the ruling party. South Korea has been plunged into political turmoil since Prime Minister Yoon Suk Yeol briefly attempted to impose martial law, only to backtrack a few hours later.
The second season of Squid Game premiered on Netflix on December 26, and the former Russian president, now deputy chairman of the National Security Council, proposed that the Asian nation take inspiration from the hit South Korean series to determine its next leader.
He wrote on X: "South Korea is at it again: one impeachment after another! Might as well start Squid Game for the government. Got our popcorn ready!"
