Hurricanes Helene and Milton have violently hit the United States, just a few weeks before the presidential elections. The serious matter has now become political one since each camp, Democrat and Republican, accuses the other of not doing or not having done enough for the victims.
These major weather phenomena have reinforced the discord between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. On Thursday, the current President of the United States denounced the false information disseminated by the Republican candidate concerning the two hurricanes. In front of the camera, and responding to a journalist who had asked him if he had recently spoken with Trump, Joe Biden said: "Is this a joke? "To former President Trump: do something with your life, my man, help these people".
The American Vice President, Kamala Harris, continued in the same vein by inviting the former businessman to stop his disinformation campaign. "Yesterday (Wednesday), I met with representatives of the federal administration who are working tirelessly to provide assistance to the Americans affected by Helen and Milton," Harris wrote on the X social media network. "Meanwhile, Donald Trump spreads lies and gives lessons on the sound of the wind."
For his part, the former tenant of the White House criticizes the Democrats for having a delayed reaction following the passage of Hurricane Helen, statements that were strongly denied by the American president.
