Attack on Trump also scares politicians in Europe
The attack on former US president Donald Trump is also making other politicians realize that they are in danger. Also on the European continent.
For instance, French far-right politician Marine Le Pen reported that an attack like the one on Trump could also happen in France. The same sound was heard from PVV leader Geert Wilders. After receiving death threats, he has been receiving round-the-clock protection for years. For Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, the attack on Trump was not a warning but a reminder of what is happening, not only in America, but also elsewhere.
Political attacks are also becoming commonplace in Europe: in May Robert Fico, the prime minister of Slovakia, was shot and in Germany, Matthias Ecke was attacked while campaigning for the past European elections.
