Mother with child experiences worst nightmare: switching error in car park just next to the sea
A woman drove her car into the sea from the car park opposite the Marina Hotel in Izola, Slovenia, last weekend. A four-year-old child was also in the car. A foreign tourist noticed what happened and immediately jumped into the sea to rescue both occupants.
Soon after, police and fire brigade arrived at the scene and pulled the car out of the sea with a special crane. So confirmed the police at Primorske Novice. A doctor examined the two people involved in the accident. They were not injured but were badly shaken.
According to the police, the vehicle was in gear and so when the driver pressed the accelerator, the vehicle shot forward and drove into the sea.
