How to save money on your cooking ingredients
We have already established that life is becoming increasingly expensive. Nevertheless, People still enjoy good food. Going to restaurants is becoming more expensive, and ingredients for cooking at home are also becoming more expensive: meat, cheese, fresh vegetables and fruit ... However, you really don't have to spend a lot of money to eat well. It's important to replace more expensive ingredients with a budget alternative.
Frozen vegetables and fruit
Frozen vegetables sometimes contain more vitamins and nutrients than those from the fresh produce department, because they are processed and frozen immediately after harvesting. They are usually cheaper, besides domestic seasonal vegetables. These are cheaper when they are in season.
Fancy a smoothie with blueberries? Then go for frozen fruit! A bag like of frozen fruits also lasts a long time (unlike fresh berries).
Parmesan cheese
Are you someone who swears by Parmesan cheese on spaghetti ? Replace it with Grana Padano. This cheese is made according to the same principle, but is cheaper because it is subject to fewer rules.
Replace meat
Meat means a serious bite out of your food budget. Replace meat with beans, lentils or chickpeas. These perfect meat substitutes are super nutritious! Their dried version is also cheaper than canned.
Greek yoghurt
You can use this to make delicious sauces; make sure you season it appropriately. This yoghurt is also ideal for breakfast, as a snack or in a smoothie. Due to its high protein content, this yoghurt is ideal as a power food.
A leftovers day? Add some Greek yoghurt when heating it up, and you have a surprisingly good meal.
Pine nuts

You can also make a full and cheap meal with the following ingredients:
-brown rice: dirt cheap and filling.
-eggs: omelette or tortilla pie with vegetables, or just eat them for breakfast. Eggs are a good source of vitamins and also great as a meat substitute!
-oats: very nutritious and can be used for breakfast or as a snack. You can also make vegetarian burgers with it. Also use oats in healthy cookies, cereal bars or cake.
