Ukraine doesn't fear Trump's election

Former Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States and Head of the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center, Valerii Chalyi, an expert on American politics, spoke about the November 5 deadline in the United States.

According to Valerii Chalyi, Ukraine will have to adapt in any case:

"We have already seen Donald Trump's presidency, and everyone can draw their own conclusions from it. For me, the situation is quite transparent - I have seen it from the inside, and I will say this: Ukraine will have to work with the person elected by the American people, whoever he/she may be, and therefore we must prepare different tools for this."

He talks about Trump's potential return to the White House and doesn't see it as a danger for Ukraine:

"It's a big mistake to think that the people who are currently around Trump will occupy positions in the White House. This isn't the case. There will be a transition team that will form these positions. So there are balances, certain circumstances, and there is Congress, after all."

And if Kamala Harris is elected, according to the former ambassador, the situation will not be so positive:

"I wouldn't say that it will be easier for us with a Democratic candidate either. It was very difficult to work with the people who were on his team in the past. I worked with them - they were part of Obama's team. At that time, they had no desire to help Ukraine with lethal weapons. It was an insurmountable wall."
