"Russia is the greatest security threat in Europe" (German diplomacy)
German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, said that Russia was heading towards "totalitarianism" and would remain "the greatest danger to European security".
"Ideologically, Putin's Russia is on the path to totalitarianism," Baerbock said at an event in Berlin. She based her statements on confidential reports from German intelligence services.
The foreign minister since 2021 has called on citizens to keep in mind that the Kremlin's "imperialism" doesn't stop with Ukraine, but that the Russian president is preparing his troops for a "big war" and is transforming the Russian economy into a war economy as a result.
"This means that, if only for economic reasons, the Russian president is not in a position to say tomorrow, this war is over," Baerbock said.
