The risk is real: Moscow threatens NATO directly on its territory

More and more Member States of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation are facing malicious activity on their territory. NATO has expressed its ‘grave concern’ in this regard.

‘NATO allies are deeply concerned about recent malicious activity on allied territory. Some of these activities have led to the investigation and indictment of several individuals in connection with hostile state activities in the Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and the United Kingdom,’ reads the NATO website.

‘These incidents are part of a continuing campaign of intensified Russian activity throughout the Euro-Atlantic area, including on Alliance territory and through proxies,’ the statement continued. ‘These include sabotage, acts of violence, cyber and electronic interference, disinformation campaigns and other hybrid operations.’

According to NATO, Russia's hybrid actions ‘threaten the security of allies’.
