Putin's confusing gift to North Korea
Last week, some 70 exotic animals arrived in North Korea from Russia.
According to South Korean media, Putin is paying North Korea with oil, anti-aircraft missiles and ... exotic species.
The Russian press detailed the type of animals: an African lion, two brown bears, 25 pheasants, two yaks, 40 ducks and five white cockatoos. This is a gift from Vladimir Putin to the North Korean people.
Animals have always played a special role in relations between countries. They have been offered as a sign of support, kindness and affection. During his last trip to Pyongyang, Vladimir Putin had already received two Pungsan dogs, a native breed, from Kim Jong Un.
