Putin raises taxes to continue massacring Ukrainians
Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided to impose a tax increase on his people. To that end, Putin signed several decrees Friday to increase taxes on high-income earners and businesses. In this way, he hopes to continue financing the exploding costs of invading Ukraine and massacring its people.
Most of Russia's population will not get higher taxes, though. Indeed, to restore balance, the Russian state will introduce new tax rates (of 18, 20 and 22 percent) on the highest incomes and increase taxes on corporate profits (from 20 to 25 percent). So for the rest of the population, which is facing an inflation rate of 8.6 percent, the rate will simply remain at 13 percent.
