He asks NATO to intervene: "Shoot down Russian targets, protect our citizens"
The Ukrainian president's message is clear: he is asking NATO for help to protect Ukrainian airspace from devastating Russian attacks.
Volodymyr Zelensky addresses NATO directly, asking for help as soon as possible:
"The Russians are using 300 aircrafts on Ukrainian territory. We need at least 120-130 planes to resist, to fight in the air. Can't you do that now?"
And he continued:
"Okay. So we go back to air defense, can't you guys do that too? The F-16s, you guys can't deliver them yet. So we go back to the aircrafts that you had on the territory of neighboring NATO countries. Get them up! They are there! Use them!"
"Shoot down targets! Protect civilians!"
