For Zelensky, “Trump doesn't warn, he speaks and acts”
US President Donald Trump's urgent appeal to Russian leader Vladimir Putin to stop the war against Ukraine isn't a warning. It's a signal from a strong man, Zelensky said in an interview with Italian media outlet Il Foglio.
“I think it's important that there's a signal from a strong man. It's like a gunshot. No shot in the air warns of something. He doesn't warn, he speaks directly. He says he really wants to end the war. So far, we don't know how it will happen, we don't know the details,” he commented on Trump's statement.
According to him, the American president himself doesn't yet know how Russia's war against Ukraine will end, not least because Putin doesn't want peace at the moment.
Recently, US President Trump strongly urged Putin to end the war and sit down at the negotiating table with Ukraine. Otherwise, the US will be forced to take serious action against Russia. In addition, Trump has set his representative a 100-day deadline for Ukraine and Russia to find a solution to end the war.
