China bans Vladimir Putin’s secret fleet from docking in its ports
One of China’s largest port operators has banned Vladimir Putin’s secret fleet from docking in the Shandong region, located in eastern China.
According to Reuters, which cited three local traders, this ban has been enforced at the Asian port.
China, one of the world’s largest oil importers, has been purchasing significant quantities of Russian oil, despite Western sanctions imposed since February 2022, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
In 2023, China imported 20% of its oil from Russia, while Moscow exported a total of 8.64 million tons of oil globally.
