Two pyromaniacs aged only 12 and 14 have confessed to setting fires at seven locations in the Dutch town of Alkmaar.

The young offenders were arraigned Monday at the magistrate's court. The latter decided that the 14-year-old girl would remain in custody for an additional two weeks, and that the 12-year-old girl would be allowed to await further trial at home.

The girls allegedly acted out of 'boredom'. The teens allegedly struck at a library (3 p.m.), the McDonald's (3:30 p.m.), the Hema (4:20 p.m.), a church (5:10 p.m.), a movie theater (5:55 p.m.), the Decathlon (6 p.m.) and De Mare shopping center (7:15 p.m.). They were filmed several times by surveillance cameras.
