White House on mysterious drones: ‘No cause for concern’
According to White House security adviser John Kirby, Americans need not worry about the numerous drones spotted in the state of New Jersey in recent weeks.
There has been a lot of uproar in the US recently over reports about large numbers of drones being spotted over important infrastructure in the north-east of the United States. The FBI received as many as more than 5,000 reports of drones hovering over water reservoirs, power lines, train stations, police stations and military installations.
At a press conference, White House security adviser John Kirby reported that Americans need not worry and that investigations found no risks to public safety. According to Kirby, it involves ‘a combination of lawful commercial drones, hobbyist drones and law enforcement drones, as well as manned fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and even stars that were mistakenly reported as drones’.
Just last week, Donald Trump declared that the Biden administration was withholding information on the topic. However, he did not provide evidence for his statement.
