Was missing boy (12) swallowed by crocodile?
On Tuesday, a 12-year-old boy was reported missing in northern Australia.
The lad was last seen swimming in a stream in the remote town of Nganmarriyanga.
A search operation was launched with officers and locals, but there are fears among the population that the child may have been eaten by a crocodile. Officers, along with volunteers in boats, are searching the water.
"We live in a place where crocodiles occupy our water places. It is a tragic event. We are waiting to see what the additional details are when the search and rescue teams have finished their work," Brent Potter, Northern Territory Police Minister, told SkyNews.
There are more than 100,000 crocodiles living in the Northern Territory and they can grow up to six meters long.
