Tourists blocked in collapsed ice cave: at least 1 person already succumbed

A group of 25 people were visiting a cave in a glacier in Iceland when the cave suddenly collapsed, trapping the tourists.

According to an eyewitness, the group was just coming out when part of the cave collapsed. The ice cave is located west of the town of Jökulsárlón.

The rescue operation is enormously complex. One person, meanwhile, was already pulled lifeless from under the ice. Another person was seriously injured; two other tourists are still missing. The rest of the group was rescued, Icelandic broadcaster RUV reported.
