Terrible: the death toll continues to rise in Spain
A new report from the floods in Spain brings the number of victims to more than 60 dead, including children. The damage is considerable and the emergency services are still looking for people.
The torrential rains, up to 445 l/m² in 24 hours, on the evening of Tuesday, October 29, 2024, have transformed some neighborhoods into a gigantic torrent. The material and human damage from these floods is terrible in the east and south of Spain. Particularly in the region of Valencia with ares being completely devastated.
2 babies killed
This Wednesday afternoon, the Spanish news agency EFE announced an official death toll of at least 64, including two children and two babies. The toll could still rise. Indeed, there are still missing people and areas cut off and that are still inaccessible to rescue workers. The Spanish government has declared 3 days of national mourning. Several countries and the European Union have already offered their help to Spain.
