Starship rocket falls in the water before Trump's eyes
Elon Musk's SpaceX company carried out a sixth test launch of its Starship mega rocket. Carried out in front of billionaire Donald Trump, the first stage failed to recover and ended up in the water.
This time it was a failure. Unlike the previous Starship flight, SpaceX was unable to recover the Super Heavy first stage using a mechanical arm. The procedure in question is designed to make the mega rocket reusable. During this sixth test flight, on November 19, 2024 in Texas, the rocket successfully launched, but the first stage failed with the flight disintegrating in the Gulf of Mexico.
Landing
The flight team decided not to attempt recovery, as the “conditions were not right” to do so. All this before the eyes of SpaceX boss Elon Musk and future President Donald Trump. The Starship, on the other hand, continued on its planned course, eventually landing in the Indian Ocean before sinking. The Starship is to be used by NASA for missions to the Moon or Mars.
