“If necessary, we will shoot them out of the sky.” So says incoming US President Donald Trump in response to the sighting of citizens of the state of New Jersey. 

Indeed, residents of New Jersey and New York have seen strange objects flying over important buildings in recent weeks. These would be mysterious drones hovering over important infrastructure such as water reservoirs, power lines, train stations, police stations and military installations. Local authorities have received many reports of them, but for now it is not clear what is exactly going on. Accordingly, Donald Trump is also demanding clarification from the U.S. government. 

“Can this really happen without the knowledge of our government”, Trump wrote Friday in a post on Truth Social. “I don't think so! Let the public know, and now. Otherwise shoot them out of the sky!”

The White House and Pentagon are already stressing that there is no security risk. “It appears that many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft being used legally”, White House security adviser John Kirby said at a briefing.
