Putin's second cousin accidentally reveals too much

Russian Deputy Defence Minister Anna Tsivileva has inadvertently shared the number of missing Russian soldiers.

The great-niece of President Vladimir Putin said during a discussion in the State Duma that family members have already submitted 48,000 requests for DNA analyses to the Russian Defence Ministry.

The head of the defence committee in the Duma, Andrei Kartapolov, immediately realised that Tsivileva was revealing too much info and demanded that the remark not be included in the report. But the session was broadcast live, so the harm was already done. The Douma did take the broadcast in question offline afterwards, but a lot of people had thus already heard that at least 48,000 Russian soldiers are currently missing.
Some 745,700 Russian soldiers are said to have already been killed since the start of the war in February 2022.
