Premeditated for 3 months: "This was an assassination attempt against Trump"
A chilling letter written by Ryan Wesley Routh expressing regret over his failed attempt to assassinate Donald Trump in Florida has been made public.
The Justice Department obtained the letter from a witness who said he received it in a box the suspect had delivered to him months ago and opened it when he realized he was the suspect in the apparent attempt to assassinate Trump.
“It's now up to you to finish the job and I will offer $150,000 to anyone who completes it,” the suspect added in his letter.
Weslegh Routh has been charged federally with possession of a firearm with the serial number obscured and unlawful possession of a firearm as a felon, though more serious charges are likely to be filed against him depending on how the investigation progresses.
