‘Talk less about peace process, send more weapons’

Clear language from NATO chief Mark Rutte.

‘Allies of Ukraine should worry less about peace negotiations with Russia and send Ukraine more weapons. That's what we need.’

The Dutch secretary-general did not respond to questions about peace talks and security guarantees for Ukraine. ‘I am going to say this very firmly. Ukraine does not need more ideas about what a peace process could look like. Make sure Ukraine has what it needs to be in a strong position when those peace talks start. I would say more military aid and less discussions about a peace process,’ Rutte said before the start of a meeting with the foreign ministers of the 32 NATO countries.

Besides, Russia is also not giving any signal that it is really willing to start peace talks, the NATO chief argued. Despite the fact that Russia is losing large numbers of military personnel by being killed or wounded. ‘We are now thinking about 700,000 instead of the 600,000 we mentioned earlier,’ he said.
