“I’m going to go there… You may never see me again”
On Wednesday, the Republican candidate attacked immigrants once again. Less than two months before a historic election, he announced he would go to Springfield, a city in the Midwest of the United States currently under fire from racist rumors.
Plots are in place against thousands of Haitian immigrants suspected of feeding on domestic animals. "Springfield, Ohio, this beautiful little city, no crime, no problem. 32,000 illegal immigrants arrived in the city, almost the size of the population, in a few weeks (...) I'm going to go to Springfield," declared Donald Trump. Before continuing: "You may never see me again, but that's OK," he added to the laughter of his supporters.
To escape the crisis, nearly 15,000 Haitians were attracted to the city of Springfield and its economic recovery. In the hands of the Republicans, Springfield is currently shaken by false accusations circulating on social media networks, accusations largely fueled by the former White House tenant. The latter doesn't hesitate to call Haitians "thieves and eaters of cats, dogs and geese". At least 33 bomb threats have been triggered in the city, many schools have also had to temporarily close their doors.
"They come from Africa, the Middle East, all over the world, Asia (...) We're simply destroying our social fabric," roared Donald Trump who promises to "get rid of these people" if he is re-elected.
