Iranians are sabotaging Trump campaign
Several people of Iranian nationality have been charged in the United States with hacking into the campaign team of presidential candidate Donald Trump. This was announced by news site Politico on Thursday. Many more details were not disclosed.
Iranian hackers allegedly broke into the computers of Trump and his campaign team. Documents they thus obtained would have been forwarded to the press.
Donald Trump's campaign team reported back in August that some of Trump's internal communications had been hacked and that Iran was behind it. An anonymous email account forwarded the internal communications to news organizations.
US intelligence briefed Trump on specific and real death threats from Iran in recent days. At a campaign rally Thursday, Trump said he would “blast Iran to smithereens” if it were involved in harming a U.S. presidential candidate or former president. Still, he indicated Thursday that he was willing to make a deal with Iran to end hostilities. He did not give further details in making this statement.
