Donald Trump, Time's personality of the year
Donald Trump gave a lengthy interview on November 25 at his Mar-a-Lago residence to Time magazine, which named him Person of the Year.
The president-elect looks back on his election campaign that led him to the White House:
“I think we ran a flawless campaign. It was really something. I call it 72 days of fury. There were no days off. There was no downtime. If you made a mistake, it was amplified to levels never seen before. So there was no room for error. It was a real challenge. It started 72 days before the competition."
Trump also looks back on the opportunity that opened up for him this year:
“For whatever reason, it seemed like the time was right. And I worked very hard. The journalists who followed me gave me credit because it was, you know, all the time, every day, and we said the right things. We said the things that concerned the country. I don't think the Democrats got it. They kept repeating the same old nonsense. And that was nonsense, especially in the current situation. And we touched something very special. We struck a chord with the country.”
