"His hand in the panties of an extra"
The French actor Gérard Depardieu will be tried in October for sexual assaults allegedly committed on two victims on the set of the film "Les volets verts/The Green Shutters" in September 2021.
In this regard, we remember certain testimonies, including that of the French actress Vahina Giocante who had published on her Facebook page a text denouncing the impunity that surrounded and still surrounds the behavior of Gérard Depardieu.
"I made three films with this so-called “legend". I saw him at his best with [director] Claude Chabrol. He respected him and more or less behaved himself!!
But I also saw him act like a wild animal, without mercy for those he intimidates."
“Detestable” Depardieu
"He was impressive by his corpulence and charisma, certainly, but also so weak, so miserable that he could sometimes be as touching as he could be detestable. Now there are all these women that are humiliated, hurt, traumatized even. There are so many, some who have the courage to speak out and those who don't want to make waves."
"I can no longer keep silent about having witnessed this same man with his hand in the panties of an extra during a take, seeing the face of this woman going red with shame trying to squeeze her legs to prevent Gérard's big fingers from fiddling with her intimacy, not being able to defend herself so as not to ‘spoil’ the take."
At his trial, Gérard Depardieu faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a fine of 75,000 euros.
