West fears the worst as new Russian missiles are unstoppable

Dmitry Medvedev, former Russian president, has warned Western nations that Russia's newly tested missiles are "impossible to intercept."

Currently serving as deputy chairman of the National Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev made the statement on Telegram just days after Moscow launched a medium-range intercontinental ballistic missile at Ukraine for the first time, targeting the city of Dnipro.

The Oreshnik missile, referenced by Russian President Vladimir Putin, poses a significant threat to Western nations as it is capable of carrying nuclear warheads.

In his post, Dmitry Medvedev claimed this new weapon could strike any European capital in a very short time.

"It is impossible to shoot down with modern means and we are talking about minutes. Bomb shelters will not help. So the only hope is that kind Russia will warn about launches in advance. Therefore, it is better to stop supporting the war," he wrote on Sunday.

However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy sharply criticized Dmitry Medvedev’s remarks, asserting that these missiles can, in fact, be intercepted mid-flight.
