Ukrainians trap Moscow with heavily armed Sea Baby marine drone

In early December, the Ukrainian security services (SBU) targeted the Kerch Strait.

Although the Russian Navy has left its base in Sevastopol, in occupied Crimea, it continues to protect the Kerch Strait, due to a strategic bridge that allows the peninsula to be supplied.

Several times already, the Ukrainian armed forces have shown their willingness to destroy this bridge, of which the Russian president is extremely proud. In Crimea, the Russians are now concentrating all their defenses around this strategic structure.

This doesn't demotivate the Ukrainian troops, who, at the beginning of the month, deployed “Sea Baby” naval drones in the Kerch Strait. The Ukrainian security services claim that these drones hit “a Russian barge with equipment for repairing the bridge”.

“They thought it would be an easy hunt”

According to the SBU, the drones were targeted by Russian planes, helicopters and patrol boats in order to disarm them. However, the formidable Sea Babies, armed with large-caliber machine guns as well as automatic locking and targeting capabilities, couldn't be neutralized.

During the attack, the Russians suffered heavy material losses, their helicopters having been damaged. "The Russian pilots considered themselves hunters and were counting on an easy hunt, but they became prey when the marine drones retaliated,” announced the SBU.
