Ukraine forced to retreat in the face of the enemy

On Friday, the Ukrainian Parliament was forced to cancel its session.

The reason? The threat of Russian strikes, all too present in the wake of Moscow's launch of its new hypersonic missile. Several deputies told the press that the Rada, or Supreme Rada (Ukraine's unicameral parliament), had been forced to cancel its session due to “signals about an increased risk of attacks on the government district in the coming days”.

Neighbouring the Central Bank and the seat of government, Parliament was therefore deserted.

Until now, the government quarter has never been the target of Russian bombing. Access is permanently controlled by the Ukrainian army. For his part, Volodymyr Zelensky's spokesman guaranteed that the presidential administration was “working as usual, respecting the usual security standards”.
