Ukraine brings out the big guns
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has revealed that Ukraine has ramped up its missile production efforts.
The president received a briefing on the nation’s weapons production contracts, highlighting a "significant volume" of new and long-term orders for first-person-view (FPV) drones, reconnaissance drones, long-range drones, and missile-launching drones.
Officials also provided updates on the development and testing of domestically produced missiles.
Since the conflict began in February 2022, Ukraine has launched a missile production program. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the country has already manufactured its first 100 missiles.
Earlier this year, the Ukrainian leader disclosed that Ukraine had successfully tested a domestically produced ballistic missile and missile-equipped drone.
This push for homegrown weapons comes as Western aid deliveries have slowed, prompting Ukraine to rely more heavily on its own production capabilities.
